Hey all,
Lots of things happening!
Fates Warning has been confirmed for the South American edition of the ProgPower festival which takes place im mid-August in Santiago, Chile; we are scheduled to play the second day, August 18. Although I played there with Halford and Sebastian this will be my first time in SA with Fates. I'm really looking forward to it because the crowds down there are some of the best anywhere on the planet. Visit the PPSA website for more info!
We will also be hitting the road across North America for a month, starting on November 15 in Joliet, IL and wraping in Seattle, WA on December 14 (check the Tour section for confirmed dates), in support of our forthcoming new studio album, another first for me with Fates, which we will start tracking in the coming weeks. Read the full press release HERE; Europe is on the fall itinerary as well - stay tuned for exact dates and venues!
Last but not least, the new Sebastian Bach - 'ABachalypse Now' CD/DVD is hitting stores today, March 26. The package includes 2 European festival shows from 2012, GrasPop in Belgium and Hellfest in France, and our Los Angeles show at the Nokia Theater which was originally broadcast on AXS-TV. Get the full scoop HERE. Looks like I'll be busy this summer with Sebastian, starting with Boonstock in Gibbons, Alberta in June, with more shows tba.

Hey all,
The folks over at Modern Drummer have been kind enough to offer me some blog space to fill you in on my latest recording venture, Zierler Projects. ZP occupied a good deal of my time whenever I wasn't on the road with Sebastian, Fates Warning or Arch/Matheos last year and I've finally wrapped things up on my end.
You can read the blog at THIS location. I've also documented the recording process and posted drum-cam footage of the song 'Aggrezzor' on my YouTube channel. So check that out, too!
Finally, I've recently re-activated my Twitter account and been posting updates there as well. Follow me by clicking on the icon below!

Happy belated New Year everyone!
Well, back to the grind as they say. 2013 promises to be another busy year for me between gigging and recording. First off, I've got a weekend run with Sebastian Bach coming up. We are gonna be in the Illinois / Michigan area for a triple header. Dates and venues are as follows:
Jan. 18 - Boondocks - Springfield IL Jan. 19 - Soaring Eagle Casino - Mount Pleasant MI Jan. 20 - Kewadin Casino - Sault Saint Marie MI
On the recording front, I'm finally in the home stretch with the Zierler Projects recording and about to edit the last tune. This is probably the most progressive stuff I've done since Spastic Ink - 'Ink Compatible'. For more info and a sneak preview go to THIS location.
Next up, I've got the new Fates Warning record - my first with the band! - coming up which will get under way a couple of months from now. Jim (Matheos) has finished writing the tunes and it's now down to all of us to start learning our respective parts and get ready for the studio. We are shooting for a fall release.
Finally, I'll be out in L.A. for the NAMM Show hanging out for a couple of days, probably on Friday and Saturday. I've missed out on NAMM for the past few years for one reason or another so I'm looking forward to seeing old friends, saying hello to my artist reps, checking out some of the jams, and having a few drinks while I'm at it.
See you out there!

Sept. 27, 2012 - Seattle NFL adventure recap; new FATES WARNING European dates!
Thursday, 27 September 2012 01:46
In case you were watching the Seahawks vs. Cowboys game last Sunday and you thought you saw a guy that looked a lot like me among the 'Hawks' Blue Thunder drumline, your eyes didn't deceive you - it was actually me! Had a blast performing with those guys and taking in the NFL up close and personal (even though my Cowboys lost, dammit!).
How did I end up as part of the NFL entertainment in Seattle? Well, to make a long story a bit shorter, about a year ago I was in Seattle playing a show with either Halford or Sebastian Bach, I forget which, and afterwards a gentleman by the name of Keith Rousu came up to me and said, "great show!" and introduced himself as the director of the Blue Thunder drumline. He said they perform before, during, and after the Seahawks games, and on occasion they've had guest drummers, including Scott Rockenfield, Steve Smith, David Garibaldi, among others, come out and perform with them. He asked if I'd be interested in joining them on a Sunday. I told him, "Seahawks? I don't know.... but if they're playing the Dallas Cowboys, I'm there!" - Sure enough a couple months ago I received an e-mail from Keith that the NFL schedules were announced and the second week would be 'Cowboys vs Seahawks'. I had to jump on it! Keith sent me a few of their cadences/tunes beforehand to prepare so I worked a little on my snare drum chops and rudiments before flying out to Seattle with my wife Carol.
I gotta say - the Blue Thunder are awesome! They entertain the crowd with a great combination of playing and dancing during their performances. I stuck to playing - my dance moves aren't quite up to par these days! I really want to thank Keith and the guys for making this an unforgettable experience. They made us feel so welcome to be their guests and we had a great time. We stayed an extra day to take in the city, walking around Pike Place Market and doing the usual fun and educational touristy things. Seattle definitely rocks!
Check out the On the Road folder on my Facebook page for a few photos from the event.
On another note, Fates Warning will be returning to Europe for a handful of shows in November, and Sebastian has booked a couple of New York area warmup gigs before we do Rock Hard Hell in Wales at the end of November. All confirmed shows are posted in my Tour Dates section.
