June 7, 2010 - HALFORD Bay Area warmup show; 'Live In Anaheim CD/DVD release dates announced! PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 07 June 2010 17:08

Hey all,

I'm starting to get back into
Halford mode here in San Antonio re-learning songs I haven't played in some 7 years. We'll be getting together in L.A. in early July for band rehearsals before I head over to Europe with Sebastian Bach for 2 Scandinavian festival dates. The first Halford show happens July 17 at the Regency Ballroom up in the SF Bay Area which is our warmup for the Heavy MTL Festival in Montreal, Canada on July 24. Then it's on to Ozzfest with Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue and others in August; the tour kicks off on the 14th in San Bernardino, CA.

Speaking of
Halford, the upcoming 'Live In Anaheim' CD/DVDs have been scheduled for June 22 and August 24, respectively. 'Crucible' - Remixed & Remastered is out July 13. All 3 releases can now be pre-ordered straight from Rob's webshop. Check out the video teasers from the 'Live In Anaheim' DVD on the Halford Music YouTube channel!

See you down the road!

Aug. 17 - Chicago, IL – First Midwest Bank Amp.
Aug. 19 - Pittsburgh, PA – First Niagara Pavilion
Aug. 21 - Hartford, CT – Comcast Theater

April 25, 2010 - 22nd CENTURY ROCK interview posted; BACH Euro dates & HALFORD tour announced! PDF Print E-mail

Hey all,

Looks like I'll be spending more time on the road in the coming months. The Bach band is confirmed for 2 Scandinavian festival dates in July (Rockweekend @ Söderhamn, Sweden on July 9 & Norway Rock @ Kvinesdal, Norway on July 10, respectively) and the Halford camp has just announced that we will be doing our first live shows in 7 years, including the 2nd Annual Heavy MTL Festival in Montreal, Canada on July 24 (more dates tba)! In addition, there will be a 'Live In Anaheim' CD and DVD (recorded at our very last show at the Grove in 2003) and a re-issue of 'Crucible' (re-mixed & re-mastered with 4 bonus tracks). Read the official press release HERE.

In the meantime, I'm keeping busy with recording projects at home; I've got my Pro Tools setup back up and running and tracking drums for an album as we speak. Can't say what/who it is quite yet but it also features contributions from a couple of guys I've worked with in the past.

Also, check out the scans of a recent interview I did with
22nd Century Rock magazine. It was conducted by Brian Tichy, a great drummer in his own right who's played with Foreigner, Billy Idol, Slash and many others. Thanks for the chat, Brian - that was fun! Click on the cover below for more info on 22nd Century Rock!

March 16, 2010 - 'On The Road' Pt. 3 - when it rains, it pours! PDF Print E-mail

Sunday was an insane day!

I'm on the road with Sebastian Bach. We are in South America playing the support slot on the Guns N' Roses tour. Had a great show on Saturday night in São Paulo, Brazil, got a few hours of sleep, and then jumped on a plane to Rio de Janeiro on a nice sunny afternoon.

When we landed at the Rio airport we were shuttled straight to soundcheck for the Sunday night show at the Praça da Apoteose. A huge stadium!  Upon our arrival, we were told that during the night the driver of the truck carrying the Sebastian Bach band equipment had an accident while traveling through the mountainous roads. The truck crashed and its metal framing was peeled wide open thus leaving our equipment scattered all over the area. Another truck was then sent to pick up the gear but we had no idea about any damages to the equipment inside - and there was no guarantee that all the items would be accounted for. Most of the larger items were rental gear (drums, amps, cabinets, etc.) but also in the truck were our personal items (guitars, pedal boards, cymbals, etc.).

When the truck arrived at the venue, we anxiously watched as it was being unloaded. There were plenty sighs of relief when most of our personal pieces came out unscathed but there was also some cases damaged and a couple very important pieces lost, too. One very cool thing: Even before our equipment started to come out, the GN'R crew and band members quickly stepped up and told us that they would get us anything we needed to perform if any of our stuff was damaged or missing. For me, all was good except for one of the (rental) kick drums. It was completely trashed and in 4 pieces!

So I went back to the dressing room, ate some lunch, and got my video camera to take some footage of the mangled kick drum. Then it started to rain, and as they say, when it rains it pours (click HERE to watch video footage!) - literally!  As the winds picked up, pieces of the stage started to come down and crash to the ground right in front of our eyes!  Never seen anything like it!  Good thing the crowd had not been allowed in yet or things could've turned tragic.  Needless to say, there was no show in Rio after that.

Be safe out there, y'all.............
